TweenBake
A downloadable tool for Windows
TweenBake is a lightweight Windows desktop tool for turning a single PNG sprite into lively, usable animation — fast.
The missing lightweight animation layer between Aseprite and Spine — built for artists and game developers who want expressive 2D motion without bones, rigging, or animation experience.
Import one image, combine motion presets and modifiers, preview the result live, and export a sprite sheet or animated GIF in minutes.
What you can do in 0.1
- Import a PNG and create multiple animation clips
- Apply Magic Presets for idle, bounce, hover, hit reactions, and more
- Combine and customize motion modifiers
- Adjust outline, shadow, duration, FPS, pivot, and cell bounds
- Scrub the timeline and preview changes in real time
- Export a sprite sheet ZIP containing PNG and JSON files
- Export animated GIFs
- Save projects and continue editing later
Good for
- Game jams and rapid prototypes
- Adding motion to static character art
- Idle, hover, bounce, impact, and reaction animations
- Creating quick animation variations without drawing every frame
- Getting usable results without a full skeletal animation suite
Focused by design
TweenBake is not a Spine replacement. There are no bones, character rigs, or deep curve editors. It focuses on one job: helping you turn static 2D art into lively motion as quickly as possible.
Early access feedback
Version 0.1 is an early-access release. Feedback from real projects will help shape future updates.
If you try TweenBake, comments about your first export, confusing steps, missing motion styles, and game-engine workflow are especially useful.
How to run on Windows
- Download the portable ZIP
- Unzip it anywhere
- Double-click
TweenBake.exe
Requirements and notes:
- Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit
- No installer required
- The application is currently unsigned
- Windows may show a SmartScreen or Unknown publisher warning. Choose More info → Run anyway.
- Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime is required and is usually already installed
If the application does not start, download the WebView2 Evergreen Standalone Installer.
What's planned for 0.2+
Future releases will continue focusing on faster reusable workflows and game-engine delivery:
- More expressive built-in motion presets
- Save and reuse custom motion presets across projects
- Batch export every clip in one pass
- Godot-ready exports with generated SpriteFrames resources
- Better clip organization for larger character animation sets
These are planned directions rather than fixed promises. Priorities may evolve based on early-access feedback.
TweenBake will continue growing as a fast animation generation layer, not as a heavyweight skeletal animation suite.
Release model
- 0.1 — free early access with complete editing, preview, sprite sheet export, and GIF export
- 0.2 and later — planned paid releases focused on reusable workflows, batch delivery, and engine-ready export
AI-assisted development
TweenBake is an independent project developed with the help of AI coding tools. Product direction, design decisions, testing, polish, and release responsibility remain with the developer.
